VIRGINIA HAS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE
Williamsburg - Con't

The shows are wonderful. As always, our timing is impeccable. We were lucky enough to catch part of a touring troupe from the original LORD OF THE DANCE. They were outstanding. I love Irish music and dance ever since I visited there four years ago. There are always great shows on the various stages throughout the park.

Busch Gardens Elegantly hand-crafted gifts made by artisans from all over the world can be found in any of the many shops. Busch Gardens offers the most delicious foods, from Italian pasta dishes to German wursts.

The highlight of my day was when we saw the world famous Anheuser Busch Clydesdales in their stable. As you will probably come to learn, I am a true animal lover (horses in particular). Standing there gazing up at these beautiful yet massive creatures was awe inspiring. There were two new born foals to add to my sheer delight! A staff member saw my enthusiasm and opened one of the stalls so I could "get some loving." I got more than I bargained for when Duke, the largest horse in the stable, sneezed all over my blouse. I swore I would never wash it and of course my daughters were totally grossed out and didn't want to be seen with me. What can you do! We probably could have used another day here, but we certainly made the most of the time we allotted. The old world charm of Busch Gardens can't be beat.

I think we planned our day perfectly. After the exhilaration of Busch Gardens, we got into the car and moved across to WATER COUNTRY USA. Again, timing: NITRO RACER had just opened. This new drag racing, super speed slide whizzed us down a 382-foot-long drop into nice cool water. That was just what I needed about then. We then jumped aboard AQUAZOID, the world's largest special-effects family raft. We journeyed through dark tunnels complete with sensational laser light images, sound effects, drenching "water curtains" (my favorite) to an extraordinary underground finale.

There is a section called KID'S KINGDOM with wading pools and a water playground called H2O/UFO. My favorite was COW-A-BUNGA, where this big Jersey cow stands on top of a refreshing waterfall. We watched a great high diving act at the CABAN-A-RAMA theater. We had dinner, bough a few souvenirs and went back to out hotel room, where we slept exceptionally well.
